Ray Green, a former rugby player for the California Golden Bears, has been recognized as one of the top-50 transfer athletes in Cal's history. Green transferred from Towson State and played a pivotal role in the Bears' rugby success during the early 1990s.
Despite suffering a broken leg that kept him out of the national title games in 1993 and 1994, Green returned to co-captain the team to victory in 1995. His leadership and performance were instrumental in the Bears' 48-16 win over Air Force, marking the first championship played at Cal's Witter Rugby Field. Green's contributions extended beyond college as he earned 11 caps with the USA national team and was part of the USA National team 7s squad.
