According to the latest APEAL study by JD Power, electric vehicle (EV) owners report higher satisfaction levels compared to those who own gas-powered vehicles. The study, which measures owner affinity and emotional attachment to their vehicles, found
that battery electric vehicles (BEVs) showed the largest year-over-year increase in satisfaction scores, with a notable 22-point rise. BEVs outperformed internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles in nearly every category, particularly in powertrain satisfaction, where they scored 109 points higher. The APEAL study, now in its 31st year, evaluates 37 attributes related to the emotional and design features of new vehicles, based on responses from over 78,000 owners of 2026 model-year vehicles.
