Over Memorial Day Weekend, nearly 100 hockey players from across the United States participated in the inaugural Fin-Classic Special Ice Hockey Tournament at Sharks Ice San Jose. The event, hosted by One Step Beyond, Inc., was a three-day celebration
of inclusion, competition, and community. The tournament welcomed players of all abilities, providing opportunities for skill development and fostering connections among participants. One Step Beyond, Inc., a nonprofit organization, focuses on providing comprehensive programming for adults with intellectual disabilities, and the tournament was part of their efforts to make hockey accessible to everyone. The event was supported by the Sharks Foundation's Goals for Kids program, which contributed $25,250 to One Step Beyond, Inc. The weekend included on-ice drills, a welcome reception, and two days of friendly competition.
