What's Happening?
Mews, a cloud-native operating system for hospitality, has been designated as the preferred property management system (PMS) supplier for Resorts of Ontario. This not-for-profit trade association represents over 100 independent resorts, lodges, cottages,
and country inns across Ontario. The partnership aims to modernize operations and improve guest experiences by providing these properties with access to Mews' technology. Historically, Ontario's independent resort sector has had limited access to advanced technology, which larger hotel groups typically utilize. Mews' platform automates key workflows such as reservations, payments, and reporting, reducing manual tasks and allowing staff to focus more on hospitality. Elmhirst's Resort, a long-standing member of Resorts of Ontario, has already adopted Mews, reporting improved operational efficiency and guest service.
Why It's Important?
This development is significant as it addresses a critical gap in the hospitality technology sector for independent resorts, which are often underserved. By adopting Mews' technology, these resorts can streamline their operations, reduce administrative burdens, and enhance the overall guest experience. This move is expected to help these properties remain competitive in a market where guest expectations are continually evolving. The partnership also highlights the importance of technology in the hospitality industry, particularly for smaller operators who may not have the resources to implement large-scale IT systems. By facilitating access to modern technology, Resorts of Ontario is supporting its members in delivering high-quality, personalized guest experiences, which are crucial for customer retention and business growth.
What's Next?
As more members of Resorts of Ontario transition to Mews' platform, it is anticipated that there will be a noticeable improvement in operational efficiency and guest satisfaction across these properties. The association may continue to seek additional partnerships with technology providers to further support its members. Additionally, other independent resort associations may look to this partnership as a model for integrating technology solutions to enhance their own operations. The success of this initiative could lead to broader adoption of similar technologies in the hospitality sector, particularly among smaller, independent operators.
