South Carolina Ports (SC Ports) has announced the appointment of Patrick McCrory as its new Chief Operating Officer. McCrory will be responsible for leading SC Ports' operations team, which comprises over 500 individuals. This team manages the safe and
efficient functioning of port container terminals, ro-ro and breakbulk operations, intermodal facilities, and two rail-served inland ports, in collaboration with various maritime and logistics partners. McCrory brings extensive experience in safety, transportation, logistics, and rail to his new role. His background includes leadership positions in freight rail, intermodal terminals, marine terminal operations, supply chain management, workforce development, and major infrastructure projects. He previously served as president and CEO of Palmetto Railways, where he focused on enhancing the state's freight rail infrastructure and growing cargo volumes.
