achieving a peak of 4.6 kilowatt-hours by repositioning the vehicle to maximize sun exposure. This achievement demonstrates the functionality of Aptera's curved solar panels and custom solar charge controller in real-world conditions. However, the company now faces the challenge of converting this solar energy into a promised 40 miles of daily range. To achieve this, the vehicle must reach an efficiency target of 100 watt-hours per mile, translating to 10 miles per kilowatt-hour. This is a significant leap from the 3 to 4.5 miles per kilowatt-hour typical of most traditional electric vehicles. Aptera is actively testing its vehicle's aerodynamics and rolling resistance to meet these efficiency goals.
