What's Happening?
Mimitime, a new brand founded by Priscilla Tsai and Ava Lee, is introducing a Korean collagen gelatin snack to the U.S. market. The product, a konjac-based gelatin enriched with marine collagen, aims to blend skincare with snacking. Launching on August
9, it will be available exclusively at Target from August 16. The snack, popular in Korea, is designed to appeal to American consumers interested in beauty and wellness. Each pouch contains 30 calories, 3 grams of sugar, and 1,500 mg of collagen, available in four flavors: strawberry, peach, apple, and grape.
Why It's Important?
The introduction of Mimitime's collagen gelatin snack represents a growing trend in the beauty industry where skincare and nutrition intersect. This product could redefine beauty routines by integrating them into daily snacking habits. The U.S. market's acceptance of such products could lead to increased demand for functional beauty snacks, potentially influencing the beauty and wellness sectors. The founders aim to achieve over a million dollars in sales within the first few months, indicating significant market potential.
What's Next?
Mimitime plans to expand its product line beyond collagen gelatin snacks, aiming to create a new category of functional beauty snacks. The success of this launch could encourage other beauty brands to explore similar innovations, potentially leading to a broader range of ingestible beauty products. The placement of Mimitime in Target's beauty ingestibles section highlights the evolving consumer interest in products that combine beauty and nutrition.
