Port Washington native Eden Franco has successfully transitioned from local school productions to professional union theater, recently starring as Tracy Turnblad in 'Hairspray' at theaters in Pennsylvania and Maine. Franco, a 2019 graduate of Paul D.
Schreiber High School, grew up immersed in music and theater, taking piano lessons for 12 years, participating in orchestra and choir, and performing in school musicals. Her pivotal role as Sebastian the Crab in 'The Little Mermaid' during high school solidified her passion for performing. After initially attending Syracuse University, she transferred to New York University Steinhardt's musical theater program, which she credits as a crucial decision for her development. Franco, a 'multi-hyphenate' artist, sings, acts, dances, plays six instruments, music directs, and composes. She secured the 'Hairspray' role despite a last-minute audition while ill, performing 55 shows and spending significant time on stage.
