Audi and its Chinese partner SAIC have officially opened the AUDI Innovation & Technology Center (AITC) in Shanghai. This new development center will house a team of up to 300 employees dedicated to developing the next generation of the Advanced Digitised
Platform (ADP), which will underpin four new electric vehicle models for the AUDI brand. These new models are slated for release starting in 2028. The AITC will focus on intelligent electrification technologies, software-defined vehicles, AI-powered smart cockpits, and advanced driver assistance systems tailored specifically for the Chinese premium car market. Fred Schulze, CEO of the Audi and SAIC cooperation, described the AITC as a 'historic milestone' and an 'innovation driver' for their future products.
