The Rolling Stone Rock Tour, presented by Miller High Life, in partnership with Sonesta International Hotels, touched down at San Diego’s House of Blues on July 16. The ferocious double bill included Die Spitz, a punk quartet from Austin, Texas, with overwhelming
critical acclaim and a global fanbase, and Snooper, a buzzy “egg-punk” group from Nashville who draw inspiration from Devo, and incorporate oversized papier-mâché puppets in their live show.
The show is one of many major events that Die Spitz has played over the past year, including a slot at Coachella, and a gig opening for Foo Fighters at a massive soccer stadium in Liverpool, England. In the coming weeks, they’ll also appear at Outside Lands, Lollapalooza, and Olivia Rodrigo’s Daisy Chain Fields festival.
“The beauty of playing for so many people is an energy that not many people experience,” Die Spitz guitarist Eleanor Livingston told Rolling Stone earlier this year, “especially when they know your lyrics and whatnot. It’s like you climbed to the top of a mountain. It’s freakin’ better than sex. It’s a crazy feeling.”
