Harry Styles has called Madison Square Garden home every Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday for the past 10 weeks. Now, it’s all come to an end. On Oct. 31, the singer brought his record-breaking Together, Together residency to a close after 30 nights.
To
commemorate the run, New York Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson took the stage to present Styles with a banner celebrating the consecutive stretch of shows. Brunson, who wore a “Techno Is My Boyfriend” hat that Styles has been photographed with, and the singer shared a quick hug as the audience cheered.
Styles accepted the honor during the second night of his back-to-back Harryween performances. Earlier in the evening, he had dressed up as a New York City rat and sang a rendition of “Psycho Killer” by the Talking Heads. On Friday, he donned an Elvis costume; later, he changed into the outfit he wore at his X Factor audition and performed Stevie Wonder’s “Isn’t She Lovely” — the same song that he used to audition for the show.
Back in 2022, Styles completed a 15-night run at MSG and received acommemorative bannerduring his final show. “Any time that you come to Madison Square Garden and you see that, remember it’s because of you. That is ours,” he told the crowd that night. “I’m gonna come back when everyone is gone, and just sit and look at that for a while.”
Styles reflected on the meaning of the banner this month on the second anniversary of the death of his One Direction bandmate Liam Payne. “It means a lot to be able to look up there at my name up there from the last tour,” he said. “There are so many people, friends, and people that I’ve worked with, that I would’ve never been able to do this without.”
The theme of the Together, Together tour — which made stops in Amsterdam, London, Brazil, and Mexico City before landing in New York — has been celebrating the shared experience of music and the hope and human connection it sustains. It’s as Styles sings on the Kiss All the Time. Disco, Occasionally standout “Carla’s Song”: “It’s all waiting there for you.”
