Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce said “I do” on Friday night, celebrating their marriage alongside hundreds of guests at Madison Square Garden in New York City. Swift’s whirlwind romance with Kelce, who proposed to her last August, marked a happily ever
after for the singer after some not-so-successful relationships.
The upbeat occasion delighted fans, many of whom have been with Swift on her journey for decades. Fans celebrated the nuptials on social media, as well as in person, with a crowd of very dedicated Swifties waiting patiently outside MSG to spot the couple.
For some, the aspirational quality of the event was deeply satisfying. “The thought of Taylor Swift putting on a wedding dress today to get married is actually making me emotional,” one fan shared. Another wrote, “hope my close personal friend taylor swift is having the best possible day, i hope everything goes perfectly. I cant believe THE royal wedding is happening.”
Another fan celebrated the singer’s happiness, writing, “Guys, I deadass used to pray every single day for Taylor Swift to get married during ttpd and I used to force everybody around me to pray for her.”

Although not everyone initially believed reports that Swift and Kelce would get married in MSG, some fans felt it was a genius move. “Gotta give it to Taylor Swift & the American football fella she married: their event at Madison Square Garden–which has been on the books for some time now–IS REALLY BREAKING SOME PEOPLE,” one wrote. “She’s a smart cookie.
