toys were first introduced in 1949 and remain among the most popular toys you can buy today. Billions are spent on the plastic bricks every year, and Lego even reported sales rose 12% in 2025.
And really, Lego is for everyone. My adult husband still asks for Lego sets on his Christmas list every year — except now the request goes to his parents, not Santa. My 29-year-old brother keeps building sets and displaying them around his home, and so does my 5-year-old niece. Lego has always been, and still is, for all ages.
There are really only two downsides to Lego: No matter how many years go by, stepping on a brick still hurts, and the price can be a little steep.
