Boston hardcore band Haywire recently told Rolling Stone it would take a miracle for them to cancel a show. Well, it seems the NYPD is no miracle. The band, who just dropped their album, I Don’t Wanna Say Goodbye, hit New York City’s Times Square on Oct.
27 for a guerilla show, hastily performing their new track “Flex Your Head” and part of 2024’s “Haywire” before the cops shut them down.
The band have played more than 400 shows since forming in 2023. In fact, they played 96 gigs in 101 days across all 50 states in the summer of 2025. “I just try to do everything to the extreme,” frontman Austin Sparkman previously told us. For example: attempting a takeover of New York’s busiest intersection.
“I always refer back to this video I saw that said: ‘How lucky I am to be tired of the dream, of the life I once dreamed to have,’” Sparkman added. “I’m living my life. I don’t want it to stop. I gotta strike while the iron’s hot.” Luckily, no one got arrested, so the quest continues.
