The Democratic Party took control of the House and Senate on Tuesday night, delivering a stern rebuke to Donald
Trump’s presidency. Democrats will now be able to put forward an ambitious legislative agenda during the final two years of Trump’s term and set the tone for the 2028 presidential election. Crucially, the House Oversight Committee will also be able to mount aggressive investigations into Trump’s actions over the last two years.
Following Tuesday’s “blue wave,” savvy sellers are reacting to the midterm election results with a host of new merch for Democrats and democracy fans alike. Democratic Party-themed T-shirts and accessories have popped up overnight on sites like Etsy, where supporters can find everything from straightforward Democratic merch to joke mugs to “Talafreako” tees.
It’s an easy way to make a statement with your style and to proudly wear (and declare) your values.
Democrat Sweatshirt
This preppy sweatshirt boasts a collegiate-style print, with the word “Democrat” front and center. It’s one of a number of pieces available now from artists and sellers on Etsy. Choose from half a dozen colors in sizes XS to 3XL.
JPAK Democratic Party Donkey Symbol Premium Dad Hat
This hat is also an easy way to pledge your allegiance to the Democratic Party, with their donkey emblem front and center. The official party symbol is embroidered onto a casual dad hat silhouette with a curved brim and adjustable band at the back.
Cute Retro Doodles Midterms Voting Tee
This art-inspired T-shirt declares that “It’s Cool to Vote,” offering a new way to wear the “I Voted” logo. We like the retro look and feel of this unisex tee, which is made from 100% ring-spun cotton. Choose from 15+ colors, in sizes small to 4XL.
CafePress Democrat Voting/Driving Mug
Amazon has an entire collection of political mugs online, but this one is a fan favorite, with its driving-inspired metaphor. The ceramic coffee mug holds approximately 11 oz. of liquid and is dishwasher- and microwave-safe. See more novelty mugs here.
'I'm a Talafreako' James Talarico Shirt
Voters can celebrate James Talarico’s big win in Texas with this shirt, emblazoned with the state outline and the new State Senator’s fan name. This Etsy seller has more than a dozen colors of the T-shirt available, in sizes from small to 2XL.
Chris Pappas New Hampshire U.S. Senate 2026 Campaign Tote Bag
Chris Pappas was elected in New Hampshire, making history as the first openly gay man to serve in the Senate. Etsy sellers are commemorating the win (and summers in New Hampshire) with this Pappas-inspired canvas tote bag.
BDE Big Democratic Energy Superhero Team Tee
This T-shirt gives BDE — that’s “Big Democratic Energy,” of course — with superhero-inspired mugs of New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani, plus Jon Ossoff, James Talarico, and Abdul El-Sayed.
Nine colors are available in sizes small to 4XL.
Democracy Matters Embroidered Sweatshirt
And in case you need a reminder that your voice counts, this Etsy seller is selling a “Democracy Matters” sweatshirt, noting that the item “features elegant cursive lettering, combining a meaningful message with a timeless minimalist design.”
This design is available as a unisex sweatshirt or hoodie, in sizes small to 3XL.
Change the President Waffle Weave Dish Towel
For something a little more humorous, Amazon sells this kitchen towel with a pointed message. More than 500 shoppers have picked up this “Change the President” dish towel in the last few weeks alone, according to Amazon.
The towel measures 16 × 24 inches in size and is made from a waffle weave fabric that is hopefully durable enough to last till 2028.
Anti Trump Candle
And just in time for the holidays, Etsy is selling this candle, “desperately hoping Santa can fix what the election didn’t,” according to the product description.
The 9 oz. candle has a burn time of up to 60 hours, and you can choose from ten scents, including vanilla bean and “comfort spice” (there is also an unscented option). As the Etsy seller writes, this is “a sarcastic Christmas candle for anyone whose holiday wish list has become a political emergency.”
