Horror fans have a reason to celebrate this week: Amazon just dropped the long-awaited Carrie series. Available
to stream on Prime Video, the new eight-episode show is a fresh take on Stephen King’s 1974 novel Carrie , which was later adapted into the iconic 1976 movie of the same name.
Starring Summer H. Howell as the titular Carrie White and Samantha Sloyan as Margaret White (who you may recognize from The Haunting of Hill House, The Fall of the House of Usher, and Midnight Mass), the series is available exclusively on Prime Video. But right now, new members can take advantage of a 30-day free trial, which gives you plenty of time to watch without paying a dime.

After the trial ends, a Prime membership costs $14.99 per month and comes with perks like free two-day shipping, exclusive deals, and access to fan-favorite shows like The Boys and Fallout. And right now is a particularly good time to test out that free membership; not only can you use it to watch all of Carrie, but Amazon is also running its October Prime Day event, Big Deal Days.
You can save hundreds on some of the best products across tech, home, fashion, and more, with some of the biggest discounts we’ve seen reaching up to 70% off. If you’re feeling overwhelmed by the sheer number of items, check out our list of the best Prime Big Deal Days offers, which will point you toward the stuff actually worth shopping.
Signing up takes less than five minutes, and as long as you cancel before the trial ends, you won’t be charged. That said, we suggest keeping your membership, especially with some of the biggest holidays of the year just around the corner.
Where to Watch Carrie Online for Free
Although it only dropped on Oct. 7, fans online are already talking about the show. Reddit users have called it “unexpected and exciting,” while others have praised some of the monologues as among the best Mike Flanagan has “ever written.” That should come as little surprise, considering Flanagan is behind other hits like Midnight Club, The Haunting of Hill House, and The Haunting of Bly Manor, all of which are known for long, memorable speeches that can be interrupted by the occasional jump scare.
Flanagan is also known for bringing recurring actors into his projects, and Carrie is no exception; both Kate Siegel (who is also Flanagan’s wife) and Carla Gugino (fun fact: She played the mom in Spy Kids) make an appearance.
