Over here at Rolling Stone, September brought us more than some of the year’s best new albums and hit singles
— it also delivered plenty of fresh products worth putting to the test. This month, we tried everything from the latest Hatch alarm clock and Samsung watches to an American Girl doll that hit shelves at the end of the month and brought back all the nostalgia.
Through meticulous testing and plenty of newsroom opinions, we found the products we kept reaching for all month long (hello, Theraface mask), along with a few TikTok-viral finds we couldn’t resist trying for ourselves. Not everything made the cut, though. Only the products that truly lived up to our standards earned a spot on this list.
And with fall officially kicking off on Sept. 22, we also had the seasonal shift in mind, rounding up pieces that can carry you through those tricky in-between-weather days. Think breezy tees and leather boots that work for crisp New York mornings with a slight chill in the air — or for our coworkers in L.A., where temperatures are still hanging in the eighties.
The Best Products of September 2026, According to Our Editors
Out of everything we tried, bought, and spent the month getting to know inside and out, these are the 12 products our editors couldn’t stop raving about. It’s always tough to see summer go, but discovering these new gizmos and gadgets made the transition a little easier. Check them out for yourself — and for the latest drops, writer-approved finds, and products worth spending your paycheck on, head to our RS Recommends page and sign up for our newsletter here.
Lands End Cotton Supima Tee
I hadn’t given Lands’ End much thought since my teenage years roaming malls, but that recently changed when I got my hands on their cotton Supima tee. And I love it. The fit is exceptional — It’s not too long, like so many plain T-shirts — and the namesake extra-long staple cotton feels very luxurious for a sub-$50 shirt (it’s currently on sale for $27). The shirt also comes in a wide range of colors and patterns that I’m excited to order for myself. — O.H.
Heineken 0.0
I’m not much of a drinker, but I hang out with my friends at bars across Brooklyn. However, instead of drinking soda, I ask for Heineken 0.0, an alcoholic beer that tastes and feels as refreshing as a regular Heineken. It also keeps me socially engaged with friends, as I sip out of glass beer bottles at a bar. There are even fruit-infused flavors, like Nectarine Juniper and Cold Pressed Lime, to give an extra kick for teetotalers. In fact, there’s now Heineken 0.0 Ultimate for those who want no calories, no alcohol, and no sugar in their beverages — ideal for active sports lifestyles, like Padel. — R.O.
TheraFace Mask
LED face masks have become a staple in skincare in the last few years, but finding one that works for more than just fine lines can be tricky. The TheraFace Mask caught my attention because it combines red, infrared, and blue light, so it can help reduce wrinkles and dark spots, boost collagen, and minimize breakouts. It also has an optional vibration setting with three massage patterns, which feels like a nice bonus when you want a little extra in your skincare routine. Best of all, the cordless mask runs for just nine minutes, automatically switching between the three different light settings, so it’s easy to throw it on while doing things around the house.
I searched far and wide for a mask that included blue light alongside red and infrared because your girl is prone to breakouts. I’ve been using it five nights a week since June, and my breakouts have ceased to exist. I’m also noticing a smoother, glassier complexion to my tricenarian skin, making this an absolute necessity in my skincare routine. — S.D.
Lola Original Blanket
I was a late adopter of Lola Blankets, and I regret every second I spent without one of these cozy poufs draped over me. First going viral in 2025, I am not speaking poetically when I say this is the best blanket I have ever owned. I feel like a queen from Tudor England wrapped in the finest fur (don’t worry, these are made with a polyester-spandex blend), and it is the first gift I’ll be giving everyone this holiday season (maybe even a few for myself). Sizes and colors do tend to sell out fast, so if you’re planning on grabbing one once December rolls around, it’s better to do it now. — A.M.R.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra
With the announcement of the new Apple iPhone Duo, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra is still one of the best folding smartphones in 2026 — especially if you’re an Android user. The phone features an ultra-thin, sharp, and detailed display with buttery-smooth motion and fast multitasking for quick app switching, while its main claim to fame is its remarkable size when folded and opened at 6.5 inches and 8 inches, respectively. It feels like a traditional smartphone in the hand when closed and a full-sized mini tablet when opened.
As for the folding crease, compared to other models, it was barely noticeable when looking straight at it (especially when watching YouTube), while it feels virtually seamless to the touch. It’s really like getting the best of both worlds. — R.O.
Bad Boy for Life: The Rise and Fall of Sean Combs
Rolling Stone senior investigative reporter Cheyenne Roundtree just released her new book about P. Diddy, and we may sound biased, but it is absolutely worth the read. It clocks in at 400 pages and is already trending on the Amazon charts. Other readers, including us, think it’s a fascinating story about one of the most high-profile criminal cases of the last few years. — A.M.R.
Hatch Restore 3
I’ve been using the Hatch Restore 3 sunrise alarm clock for almost three months, and I say without any hyperbole that it’s life-changing. I was previously resigned to being a late-riser, frantically getting ready for work each morning, but the Hatch has helped me not just get up at a more reasonable hour but do it very easily. That means I can exercise, meditate, or do personal projects before work, which I always assumed would be impossible for me.
The clock works by slowly illuminating over the 30 minutes before your alarm time, softly stirring you from sleep, before it becomes sunlight-bright and a noise plays. The light will often wake me up before the noise, which is very nice, but the noises are more peaceful than anything I’ve been able to find on my phone. Overall, it’s an excellent experience that I recommend to any heavy sleepers like myself. — O.H.
Doordash
Football season is here, and while I love when that time of year rolls around — go Bills! — there is one part I don’t love: Grocery shopping for the party that I inevitably end up throwing every Sunday. DoorDash has saved me more than once and is my biggest hack for anyone hosting during game day.
Sure, you can treat your guests to the classics, like wings and fries from your local favorite, or, if you want to do something homemade, you can order the ingredients you need without missing a single play. You can sign up for DashPass, DoorDash’s membership program, for less than $10 and get added perks like free delivery. — A.M.R.
Arc'teryx Kopec 2 Low GTX Shoes
Hiking shoes are rarely as stylish as they are capable, which is why I was excited to check out the new Arc’teryx Kopec 2. The shoe’s breathable upper and rugged Vibram Megagrip outsole are designed to tackle just about any terrain, be it wet mud, dry rocks, or loose dirt, and they look great doing it. That means you can wear them just as easily around town as you can in the wild. — O.H.
American Girl 2027 'Girl of the Year' Daisy Davenport
My first American Girl doll was Kit Kittredge, and while the brand has come a long way since releasing the scrappy historical dolls that all millennials and older Gen Zers grew to love, it still releases its Doll of the Year. For 2027, it’s Miss Daisy Deanprint. The adorable little gal is more of an outdoorsy type, but she still comes with the same classics, like a book that tells you her story. Whether you’re buying for someone special or adding her to your own collection, she doesn’t disappoint. — A.M.R.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 9
The Samsung Galaxy Watch 9 is easily one of the best Android smartwatches, thanks to its all-day comfort, minimalist design and style, and functionality. The latest generation rocks a sharp, detailed, and responsive circular Super AMOLED touch display with a handful of useful gestures for better “at-a-glance” information. It’s ideal for health, fitness, and sleep tracking, especially for Android smartphone owners. — R.O.
André Assous x Bre Tiesi Leather Boots
The first hint of the chill in the air, and I break out my black knee-high boots. This year, I traded in my old pair and opted for this collab from André Assous and Bre Tiesi, and I’m so glad I did. They fit just right, have a comfortable heel that I can wear all day without feeling like I need to find new feet, and have a sexy leather sheen. Grab them from Nordstrom while sizes last and pair them with a mini dress (my personal pick) or a little flouncy skirt, like one of my favorites from Abercrombie & Fitch. — A.M.R.
