One notable example is INR self-monitoring, which involves patients using a medical kit to measure their International Normalized Ratio (INR) levels. This practice is typically combined with anti-coagulation drugs, most commonly Warfarin, to manage conditions requiring blood thinning. The ability
for patients to self-monitor their INR levels at home represents a significant shift towards patient empowerment and has been the subject of numerous clinical trials highlighting its advantages. These trials have explored how self-testing and self-management can lead to improved INR levels and overall patient outcomes.
Benefits of INR Self-Monitoring for Patients
Clinical reports consistently underscore the positive impact of INR self-monitoring on patients' quality of life. Studies have shown that patients frequently report increased independence and better organization of their vacation and spare time as key advantages.
