Veteran Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan has made a public appearance in Mumbai, just days after disclosing that he sustained a knee injury while filming
his popular game show, Kaun Banega Crorepati. The 83-year-old actor, who is approaching his 84th birthday, was seen attending a book launch event on October 2 alongside his wife, Jaya Bachchan, and renowned writer Gulzar. The appearance followed a recent episode of his television show where the actor explained to his audience why he was seated during his opening monologue. Bachchan noted that he had slipped and fallen on set the previous day, resulting in an injury to his left knee. Despite the incident, he reassured those present that the injury was not severe, though he admitted to experiencing some difficulty while standing.
Commitment to Professional Engagements
At the Mumbai book release event, observers noted that the actor was able to walk independently and navigate his vehicle without assistance. His decision to continue with his scheduled professional commitments shortly after the fall drew attention from followers and observers, many of whom commented on his work ethic and dedication to his career.Bachchan’s professional schedule remains busy as he continues to balance television hosting duties with his film projects. He is slated to reprise his role as Ashwatthama in the upcoming sequel to the Nag Ashwin-directed film Kalki 2898 AD, which also features Prabhas and Kamal Haasan. Additionally, he has completed work on the courtroom drama Section 84, directed by Ribhu Dasgupta and featuring a cast that includes Diana Penty, Nimrat Kaur, and Abhishek Banerjee. The film is currently in the post-production phase.
While the actor maintains a rigorous work schedule, reports have also linked him to the project Aankhen 2, although specific details regarding his involvement or the film's production status remain limited.
