Aamir Khan reveals he learned Marathi at 44
In a past interview with IANS, Aamir discussed acquiring Marathi at the age of 44. He mentioned, “I believe that in any profession, knowing more languages is advantageous. Therefore, it is beneficial to learn as many languages as possible. I struggle a bit with languages. It takes me considerable time to master a new one.”
He continued, “When I reached around 44, I realized I didn’t know Marathi – even though it is taught in schools, I didn’t focus on it much. I felt embarrassed that I was not familiar with my Rajyabhasha. Consequently, I hired a Marathi tutor and learned the language from him. Now, I can speak decent Marathi.”
