Rajpal Yadav is facing significant legal challenges following a recent ruling by the Delhi High Court, which upheld his conviction in a cheque bounce case
and sentenced him to three months in prison. This decision comes as the actor navigates a tumultuous period in his career, marked by financial difficulties stemming from a failed film project. In a bid to maintain a connection with his fans, Yadav shared his first Instagram post after the court's ruling, featuring a commercial alongside Bollywood star Akshay Kumar. The Instagram post showcases an advertisement for a spice brand, where Akshay Kumar introduces a variety of delectable dishes to a group of women, who are visibly impressed by the meal. In a humorous twist, one of the women expresses a desire to kiss the chef's hand, mistakenly believing it to be Akshay who prepared the feast. However, Rajpal Yadav makes a surprise entrance wearing an apron, revealing that he is the true chef behind the culinary delights. The legal troubles for Rajpal Yadav began in 2010 when he borrowed ₹5 crore from M/s Murali Projects Pvt Ltd to fund his directorial debut, "Ata Pata Laapata." Unfortunately, the film did not perform well at the box office, leading to Yadav's inability to repay the loan. As interest accrued, the total amount owed ballooned to nearly ₹9 crore, prompting a lengthy legal battle that has spanned several years. On July 10, 2026, the Delhi High Court reaffirmed the conviction and imposed a fine of ₹1.05 crore for each case, totaling ₹7.35 crore. Additionally, Radha Rajpal Yadav was ordered to pay over ₹5 lakh in fines for her involvement. The court noted that Yadav had repeatedly failed to honor multiple undertakings to repay the debt, despite being given numerous opportunities to settle the matter. The court's observations highlight the seriousness of Yadav's situation and the ongoing repercussions of his financial mismanagement.
