Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has reportedly received a death threat linked to the notorious Lawrence Bishnoi gang, marking him as the latest target in a troubling
trend of threats against prominent figures in the Indian film industry. The threat was communicated through a social media post and a voice note, both of which are currently under investigation by the Mumbai Police. As of now, Khan and his team have not filed an official complaint regarding the incident. The alleged threat originated from individuals identified as Arzu Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi, associates of the incarcerated gangster Lawrence Bishnoi. In their message, Aamir Khan was accused of promoting "love jihad" due to his third marriage, and they warned of dire consequences for his actions. The post stated, “We promise our brothers, sisters, and fellow citizens that whoever promotes such disgraceful acts will be dealt with in our own way. Those who are encouraging this in the name of stardom will be silenced.” Additionally, the post referenced a recent case involving the kidnapping, trafficking, and sexual assault of a 13-year-old girl in Sri Ganganagar, Rajasthan. While it commended local authorities for their swift response, it also issued a stern warning to political leaders allegedly attempting to protect the accused. The message concluded with a chilling ultimatum: “This is our first and final warning: anyone who was even one percent involved in the crime against that innocent girl and manages to escape the law will be punished by us.” In response to the circulating threats, the Mumbai Police and Cyber Cell have initiated an investigation to verify the authenticity of the social media post and the voice note. Authorities are currently assessing whether the accounts involved are legitimate and if they can be definitively linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. As of now, there has been no official confirmation regarding the validity of the threats. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang has a history of targeting Bollywood celebrities, with actor Salman Khan being one of its most prominent victims. The gang's animosity towards Khan reportedly stems from a 1998 blackbuck hunting case, and it has issued multiple threats over the years, including a shooting incident outside Khan's residence in April 2024. The ongoing threats against Aamir Khan highlight the persistent dangers faced by those in the entertainment industry.
