Comedian and actor Sudesh Lahiri has delighted audiences with his humorous performances in movies. He began his career in television before transitioning
to films. One of his memorable roles is featured in Salman Khan's movie Ready. The actor's famous lines have also been transformed into memes. Recently, he participated in an interview where he reminisced about filming with Salman. Sudesh disclosed that he felt anxious about delivering a line in which he compared Salman to a driver. Nevertheless, Salman's response helped him gain confidence.
Sudesh Lahiri shares his fear of delivering the 'Driver' line with Salman
In a recent chat with Lallantop Cinema, Sudesh reflected on his time working with Salman Khan on Ready Set. He admitted to feeling terrified and recounted, "Ek scene tha ki Salman Sir ko main milta hu, aur usme dialogue hai ki tere jese bande ko na main driver rakhta hu. Aur main dar raha tha ki kese bolunga, ki tere jese ko main driver rakha hua. Kya pata, unko pata bhi hai ki nahi, ki main ye bolne wala hu. Bura hi naa main jayein. So main Anees Bazmee Sir ko bol raha hu, ki aap ek baar ye baat unke saamne bol do ki Sudesh ji aap ye bolenge, taki mujhe thoda confidence aa jaye. Aur tokna bhi hoga toh usi wakt tok denge ki dialogue change karo."
(There was a moment when I had to tell Salman Sir, ‘I would make someone like you my driver.’ I was nervous—what if he wasn’t aware I was going to say this? What if he took offense?)

Sudesh discusses how Salman uplifted his confidence
He continued, "Main thoda dar gaya tha. Unhone bola nahi nahi bolo. Fir mene Salman ko bola ki paaji main ye dialogue bol raha hu." He elaborated on how Salman encouraged him. He mentioned, "Unhone kaha, nahi bolo na, khul ke karo. Unhone itna mera confidence badha diya na Salman sir ne. Kya baat hai? Agar wo nahi karte toh main itna accha kaam nahi kar pata."
(Translation - I informed Salman Paaji about the line, and he said, 'Go ahead, say it.' That significantly boosted my confidence. Without his support, I doubt I could have performed as well)
Sudesh commends Salman and Anees Bazmee
He also expressed gratitude towards Salman and Anees Bazmee for creating a welcoming atmosphere on set. "Anees Bazmee kar ke dikha rahe hai. Unhone mujhe aisa feel karaya set par ki main bohot filmein kar chuka hu. Isliye mera waha pe ho gaya acha. Phir Jai Ho main bhi unhone mujhe bula liya. Sohail ji ne mujhe bulaya. Fir kaafi filmon main mujhe mauka milta raha," shared Lahiri. (They made me feel like a veteran actor. This helped enhance my performance.)
He noted that this encouraging experience opened doors for him, including a part in Jai Ho, where he was invited by Sohail Khan, leading to several other film opportunities.
