Thalapathy Vijay has arrived in Delhi following a summons from the Central Bureau of Investigation for a second round of interrogation related to the unfortunate
Karur stampede case that resulted in 41 fatalities. The actor and Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) leader is being questioned as a witness while investigators delve deeper into potential oversights and accountability associated with the event. The renewed summons indicates that the agency is looking for additional insights after his previous extensive questioning, as this case remains one of the most scrutinized investigations involving a public figure in recent history.
Vijay to be interrogated by CBI at 11 am
The CBI has requested Vijay to testify again after he was interrogated for over six hours at its headquarters on January 12. Although he was initially scheduled to appear the following day, the actor asked for a different date due to the Pongal festivities. He is now anticipated to meet with investigators around 11 am. TVK officials mentioned that Vijay is likely to head back to Chennai late on Monday, unless the agency opts to prolong the questioning.
According to the latest updates, the CBI plans to revisit several elements of the previous statements made by Vijay and TVK members. The agency has identified a pattern and similarities in certain responses provided by TVK party members, as well as Vijay's driver thus far. The second round is expected to concentrate on broadly similar statements from all involved.

More on Vijay's previous CBI interrogation
In his earlier session, Vijay reportedly informed investigators that significant failures in crowd control by the local police during his Karur campaign contributed to the tragic stampede on September 27. He asserted that obstacles near the venue were not cleared promptly, which hindered movement and exacerbated congestion as the crowd grew. Vijay also justified his choice to leave the venue after the stampede, explaining that it was intended to prevent the situation from worsening.
As the investigation accelerates, the second round of questioning is viewed as vital in reconstructing the timeline of events and determining accountability in the Karur stampede case. There is a collective desire for justice for the victims.
