According to sources, the film is named Oh My Goddess. In a message congratulating Rani on the premiere ofMardaani 3, Akshay referred to her as the 'Goddess' of performance. He praised her role in the movie and encouraged audiences to catch it in cinemas. While keeping details vague, Akshay subtly confirmed his collaboration with Rani.

Director Amit Rai, who also directed OMG 2, has reportedly crafted a narrative that exceeds the previous installments in terms of scale, significance, and emotional depth. A source disclosed that Amit has created a script that is larger, more pertinent, and impactful. Akshay, who has been part of the franchise since its inception, insisted that the third installment must be elevated.

Oh My God (OMG) debuted in 2012. Paresh Rawal and Akshay starred in the satirical comedy inspired by the Gujarati play Kanji Virrudh Kanj. It received critical acclaim and was a box office hit. The story revolves around Kanji Lalji Mehta, a middle-class antiques dealer in Mumbai. As an atheist, he challenges God after an earthquake devastates his shop, the only one in the vicinity to suffer damage. When no lawyer is willing to take on a case against religious leaders and spiritual gurus, Kanji decides to represent himself. He finds an ally in a mysterious figure who assists him throughout the legal battle. This figure turns out to be none other than Lord Krishna.
A standalone sequel, titled Oh My God 2, featuring Akshay alongside Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam, was released in 2023. It tells the story of Kanti Sharan Mudgal, a devotee of Shiva, who takes his son's school to court for excluding sex education. His son faces accusations of promoting obscenity. As he navigates the legal proceedings, Lord Shiva supports him.
