Stranger Things Season 5 concluded with its final episode 8, The Rightside Up. Almost immediately, it caused Netflix to crash! While the streaming service
has faced challenges with its platform in the past due to technical difficulties and online glitches, especially with the vast number of viewers, this latest outage was significant. Fans quickly took to social media to express their frustration, with some humorously suggesting that Vecna is trapped in the Upside Down. This incident coincides with the cult series celebrating its finale with the airing of episode 8 on December 31, 2025 (January 1, 2026 in India). The outage lasted about a minute and was resolved after a few refresh attempts. As seen previously, users who faced the issue were greeted with an image from “Nailed It!” accompanied by the message: “Something went wrong. Sorry, we’re having trouble with your request. You’ll find lots to explore on the home page.” Netflix had earlier announced that the series achieved its highest viewership on Christmas Day ever this year. This follows the recent release of its Volume 2, after a successful Volume 1.
