What is the story about?
Imran Khan is embarking on a uniquely different journey as he gears up for his return to acting. The performer, who will soon appear in Adhoore Hum Adhoore Tum,
has expressed his intention to step back into the limelight without the typical support of publicists and managers. Instead, Imran aims to approach this new chapter on his own terms, valuing artistic freedom and a personal rhythm over relentless exposure and crafted narratives. The actor shared his reasons for seeking opportunities independently rather than relying on a manager.
Imran Khan states he prefers to avoid PR or management
Discussing his choice, Imran explained to Hindustan Times why he has opted to distance himself from PR teams and managers this time. “I have experienced a period where I had a PR and manager. Having seen the impact it has on your life, I now prefer to forgo those aspects. I don’t want a manager who will actively seek out roles for me. Their commission is tied to keeping me consistently employed, which might lead them to encourage me to take on projects I’m not interested in. I want to discover my own opportunities.”
Imran Khan also shared his thoughts on how heavily the industry relies on PR, which no longer resonates with him. “Participating in the PR game is a full-time commitment; it requires hours each day collaborating with the PR team, strategizing, and analyzing outcomes. Given how prevalent it is, the public has become aware of it. Now, audiences scrutinize everything—wondering if it’s a PR maneuver or what the underlying motive is. I would prefer to work at my own speed.”
More about Adhure Hum Adhure Tum
Imran’s forthcoming film Adhure Hum Adhure Tum signifies his official return to the screen after an extended hiatus. Featuring Bhumi Pednekar and Gurfateh Pirzada, the film’s whimsical and playful title encapsulates its central theme. Characterized as a dysfunctional romantic dramedy, the project intertwines humor, emotion, and relatable disorder—elements that strongly resonate with the types of roles that once established Imran as a beloved figure. It is set to debut on Netflix India this year, contributing to the platform’s expanding collection of character-driven romantic narratives.
On the professional front, Imran Khan is fondly remembered for his charming and youth-oriented films such as Jaane Tu… Ya Jaane Na, I Hate Luv Storys, Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu, Break Ke Baad, and the cult classic Delhi Belly. With his return and his choice to eschew PR-centric optics, Imran appears determined to let his work resonate more than the surrounding chatter.
