Anil Kapoor makes a grand entrance in the highly anticipated War 2! His appearance was officially announced following the film's premiere in theaters today.
Moving forward, Anil will be a recurring character in the forthcoming YRF Spyverse films, which include Alpha and Pathaan 2. Fans have expressed their excitement over his cameo in War 2. Anil has yet to comment on his involvement in the YRF Spyverse.

Anil, who portrayed Hrithik Roshan’s mentor in Fighter, reunites with him on the silver screen. In War 2, he is introduced as the new head of R&AW following the demise of Colonel Karan Luthra. Ashutosh Rana previously embodied this role in Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan and Salman Khan’s Tiger 3.

In 2024, a source informed Pinkvilla, “Anil Kapoor is thoroughly impressed by Aditya Chopra's vision for the Spy Universe and quickly agreed to join the project. He will make his debut with a role in War 2, featuring Hrithik Roshan, NTR Jr, and Kiara Advani in leading roles. This will be succeeded by the Alia Bhatt and Sharvari film, Alpha, ultimately leading to the Shah Rukh Khan and Deepika Padukone movie, Pathaan 2.”
About Spyverse
In addition to Anil, Bobby Deol also appears in War 2. He will continue the Spyverse narrative alongside Alia Bhatt and Sharvari in Alpha. This action-packed thriller led by female characters is set to premiere in December.
War 2 signifies Jr NTR’s debut in Bollywood. It is Ayan Mukerji’s inaugural venture into the spy thriller genre. Kiara Advani portrays Ashutosh Rana’s daughter, Kavya Luthra. The film was released simultaneously with Rajinikanth’s Coolie. War 2 is available in theaters in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil, and can be enjoyed in 2D, IMAX, 4DX, ICE, and Dolby Cinema formats.
