Tere Naam stands out as one of the finest films in Salman Khan's cinematic repertoire! Starring Salman alongside Bhumika Chawla, this romantic drama made
its theatrical debut in 2003. Fast forward 22 years, and Sajid Nadiadwala is reportedly gearing up to develop a sequel to Tere Naam. The original film was helmed by the late Satish Kaushik. Although the concept was conceived in 2020 by Tere Naam 2, producer Sajid is now said to be in advanced negotiations to secure the franchise rights. Currently, these rights are held by the original producers of Tere Naam, Sunil Manchanda and Mukesh Talreja.
Is Tere Naam sequel in development?
For the sequel to Tere Naam, Sajid is reportedly looking to bring back Salman, who starred in the lead role of the original film. A source revealed to Mid-Day that a new pairing may be considered, depending on whether Salman reprises his original character or takes on a different role. "Once the legal and financial arrangements are finalized, they’ll secure Salman and then announce a director. A preliminary script is currently being developed," the source noted.
At this time, discussions are reportedly progressing well, and Sajid may be interested in 'owning the IP for creative flexibility'. The report indicates that the creators aim to present the Tere Naam sequel as a revival of the legacy, blending nostalgia with modern sensibilities.

Regarding Salman's potential involvement, the source stated, "Salman is aware of the project. However, no formal offer has been made yet; he wants to review a viable script, budget, and the [distribution] of rights. He prefers not to commit until everything is clear."

On the professional front, Salman is presently occupied with the shooting of Apoorva Lakhia's Battle of Galwan. This film focuses on the military confrontation between India and China in the Galwan Valley.
