Ankita’s Instagram Story stated, “Today, I want to express something—not as a celebrity, but as a friend. I’ve been quite upset by the way people are discussing Mahi and Nadeem's relationship. I know Mahi, I know Nadeem, and I know Jai very well. And I must clarify—Nadeem has always been a father figure to Mahi and Jay, and a father to Tara. That’s all there is to it. Some relationships are founded on respect, love, and years of trust, and outsiders have no right to judge them.”
She continued, “As a friend, I can affirm that Nadeem is someone who has supported people, including me, during tough times. My admiration for him is immense. Mahi and Jai, you are doing a fantastic job as parents. God bless you. And to those spreading negativity—please cease. Let people live their lives. Karma is observing. Mahi, I care for you. On January 4, Mahhi and Jay’s joint statement read, “today, we have decided to go our separate ways on this journey called life, yet we will always support each other. Peace, growth, kindness, and humanity have consistently been our guiding principles. For the sake of our children - Tara, Khushi, Rajveer, we pledge to be the best parents, the best friends, and do whatever is necessary for their well-being.”
They further stated, “Although we are taking different paths, there is no antagonist in this narrative and no negativity associated with this choice. Before any assumptions are made, please understand that we prioritize peace over drama and sanity above all. We continue to respect one another, support one another, and remain friends, as we have always been. With mutual respect, we request your respect, love, and kindness as we move forward.
