Comedian Samay Raina has made a notable return with the second season of his controversial show, India’s Got Latent, which premiered on June 20. The season opener
featured prominent actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh as special guests, instantly sparking discussions across social media platforms. The episode showcased the unpredictable and unfiltered nature of the show, with Alia and Sharvari stepping into the lively atmosphere that fans have come to expect. Raina kicked off the episode with his signature humor, expressing his astonishment at having Alia Bhatt on the panel. He quipped about his disbelief, which set a playful tone for the evening. Alia, in a candid moment, admitted, “I am kinda regretting it right now,” to which Raina responded with his characteristic sarcasm, saying, “Maine bhi kiya tha Jigra dekh ke regret (I also regretted watching Jigra).” This exchange left Alia momentarily stunned, while Sharvari laughed at the banter. Alia quickly retorted, “At least, you watched the film. Thank you for contributing to my film,” showcasing her quick wit. The launch of Season 2 also signifies a significant comeback for Raina, who had taken a hiatus following backlash from the first season. The controversy began in early 2025 when panellist Ranveer Allahbadia made an inappropriate comment, leading to widespread criticism and legal troubles for the show's creators and guests. Raina's return marks a fresh start as he navigates the challenges of public perception. India’s Got Latent Season 2 is available for streaming on both YouTube and Netflix, with episodes released simultaneously on both platforms. Each episode maintains the same format and duration, and Raina has confirmed that the show will retain its uncensored nature, featuring edgy humor and strong language. The primary distinction between the two platforms is that Netflix offers an ad-free experience, while YouTube allows for an interactive comment section, catering to both audiences. In addition to the show's revival, Netflix is collaborating with Raina on a separate stand-up special, although details regarding the title and release date remain undisclosed. This new project is anticipated to reflect Raina's signature observational humor and storytelling style. Meanwhile, Alia Bhatt and Sharvari Wagh are set to star in the upcoming action thriller Alpha, which is part of the Yash Raj Films Spy Universe and is scheduled for theatrical release on July 3, 2026.
