What is the story about?
The romantic dynamics involving Kunal (Shahid Kapoor), Ally (Kriti Sanon), and Diya (Rashmika Mandanna) in Cocktail 2 have captured attention on its second
day at the box office. This new love story is not a direct continuation of the 2012 film featuring Saif Ali Khan, Deepika Padukone, and Diana Penty. Instead, director Homi Adajania presents a fresh narrative in this spiritual sequel. On its opening day, June 19, the Hindi film garnered Rs 13.50 crore. It premiered alongside the Hollywood animated sequel Toy Story 5 and Samantha Ruth Prabhu's Telugu film Maa Inti Bangaram.
Cocktail 2 Box Office Collection Day 2
As per initial estimates from Sacnilk, Cocktail 2 achieved Rs 16.25 crore on its second day. This marks a 20.4 percent increase from the first day's earnings of Rs 13.50 crore. The total net collections in India for the Hindi film stand at Rs 29.75 crore. It experienced a reduction of approximately 600 screens on its second day, dropping from 10,835 to 10,245. Nevertheless, total occupancy rose from 21 percent to 25 percent. Overall, it appears that the film has sustained solid growth due to the Cocktail brand recognition and its star-studded cast.
At present, it ranks among the top 5 romantic comedies in Hindi cinema for its opening day. It has surpassed films like Luka Chuppi (2019), Tanu Weds Manu Returns (2015), and Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023), only trailing behind Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar (2023). If it maintains double-digit earnings over the weekend, it could reach Rs 50 crore by Monday, June 22.

During their trip, they encounter Alisha, known as Ally, who is Diya's college friend. With Kunal and Diya preparing to marry after 16 years, will Ally's arrival disrupt their plans?
Written by Tu Jhoothi Main Makkaar director Luv Ranjan and Tarun Jain, Cocktail 2 also features Tiku Talsania, Mark Bennington, Kannan Arunachalam, Suparna Marwah, and Neelu Kohli. Similar to Cocktail (2012), Pritam has returned to create the music for this spiritual sequel, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. Bandhu 2.0, featuring the voices of Kavita Seth and Neeraj Shridhar, is a reimagined version of the hit song Tumhi Ho Bandhu from the original film, which was written by Irshad Kamil.
