Following its success, Shilpa Shetty launched another outlet of Bastian, named Bastian – At The Top, in Dadar, Mumbai, which has quickly become a favorite among stars. Shilpa Shetty revealed Bastian Bandra’s impending closure yesterday (September 2) via a detailed post on Instagram. What led to the closure of Bastian Bandra?
As reported by IANS, a businessman from Mumbai, Deepak Kothari, has lodged a fraud complaint against Shilpa Shetty and her spouse, Raj Kundra, in connection with their now-defunct venture, Best Deal TV Pvt Ltd. The businessman alleges that the couple deceived him out of more than Rs 60 crore in a loan and investment arrangement from 2015 to 2023.
Deepak Kothari, the director of Lotus Capital Financial Services, asserted that Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra purportedly received funds for business growth but instead utilized them for personal expenditures. Following the couple's involvement in the cheating case, their attorney, Prashant Patil, denied Kothari's allegations. The lawyer mentioned that the issue had already been resolved by the NCLT Mumbai.
In an official statement to the Times of India, Prashant Patil stated, “My clients have been informed by certain segments of electronic and print media that an alleged case has been registered against them at the Economic Offences Wing, Mumbai. At the outset, my clients deny all the allegations, which are purely civil in nature and have already been adjudicated by the NCLT Mumbai on 04/10/2024.” Currently, the Economic Offences Wing (EOW) is conducting an investigation after taking over the case.

It appears that the owners of Bastian Bandra – Shilpa and Raj – made this decision due to the ongoing fraud allegations. However, the official reason for the closure of Bastian Bandra remains unclear.

A place that has gifted us countless memories, unforgettable evenings, and moments that have defined the city's nightlife now takes its final bow.”
“To pay tribute to this iconic venue, we are organizing a very special evening for our dearest patrons—a night brimming with nostalgia, energy, and enchantment, celebrating everything Bastian has represented one last time. While we bid farewell to BASTIAN BANDRA, our Thursday night tradition Arcane Affair will carry on next week at BASTIAN AT THE TOP, continuing the legacy in a new chapter with fresh experiences,” Shilpa Shetty concluded.
