What is the story about?
Following a successful run in theaters, the latest entry in the Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: Brand New Day, is officially making its transition to
home entertainment. Sony Pictures has confirmed that the film, which features Tom Holland and Zendaya, will be available for digital purchase and rental starting October 6. The move to premium video-on-demand (PVOD) comes just over two months after the movie's initial theatrical debut. Viewers in the United States will be able to access the title beginning at 12 am ET. Major digital retailers, including Apple TV, Prime Video, Fandango, and Sony Pictures Core, are set to host the film, providing fans with multiple options to watch the latest chapter of the web-slinger's journey.
Digital Pricing and Physical Media Details
For those opting for the digital route, the film will be available for purchase at a price point of USD 29.99, while a 48-hour rental option will be priced at USD 24.99. Notably, users accessing the film via Prime Video will not be required to hold a specific membership to complete their purchase or rental.Collectors interested in physical media can already pre-order the film on 4K Ultra HD and Blu-ray. These physical editions are scheduled for release on December 15, 2026. Each physical copy will include a digital code, granting owners access to a digital version of the film on compatible devices. Additionally, a limited collector’s edition has been made available for pre-order for those seeking a more comprehensive package.
Future Streaming Availability
While the digital and physical release dates are confirmed, information regarding subscription-based streaming remains subject to existing distribution agreements. Currently, there is no official date for the film’s arrival on Netflix. However, under a long-standing pay-TV agreement between Sony Pictures and Netflix, the film is expected to eventually join the platform's library in the United States, as the deal covers Sony’s theatrical releases, including those based on Marvel characters.Beyond the anticipated Netflix window, the film may also eventually migrate to a Disney-owned streaming service. This is due to a separate, multi-year agreement between Sony and Disney that covers the US streaming rights for Sony’s theatrical films released between 2022 and 2026, which typically takes effect following the conclusion of the initial pay-TV window.
