Actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh has officially announced his second partnership with director Imtiaz Ali through a behind-the-scenes vlog shared from his current
filming in Punjab. Posted on Instagram on Thursday, the video offers fans a unique insight into his daily activities and subtly indicates that he and Imtiaz are coming together again after the tremendous success of Amar Singh Chamkila.
A Peek Into Diljit’s Day on Set
In the vlog, Diljit starts his day at 4:30 am, followed by a workout. He then enjoys a breakfast of fruits and protein before heading to the set with his crew. The footage shows him shooting in front of a green screen and engaging in friendly exchanges with Imtiaz Ali, confirming that the director is once again at the helm of Diljit’s next, currently unnamed, project.
After finishing the shoot, Diljit returns to a picturesque haveli where he is residing during the film’s production.
Second Collaboration Following the Success of Chamkila
This forthcoming film signifies the pair’s second collaboration after the critically acclaimed Amar Singh Chamkila, which tells the story of the legendary Punjabi musician. Parineeti Chopra portrayed Amarjot, Chamkila’s spouse. Known as the “Elvis of Punjab,” Chamkila was renowned for his captivating performances, daring lyrical style, and cultural significance. His tragic murder alongside Amarjot in 1988 is considered one of the greatest losses in Punjabi music history.
Amar Singh Chamkila received two nominations at the International Emmy Awards — Best Actor for Diljit Dosanjh and Best TV Movie/Mini-Series. Although it did not win, the recognition highlighted Punjabi and Indian storytelling on a global scale and underscored the lasting impact of Chamkila’s music.

Diljit’s Upcoming Film: Border 2
Diljit will soon appear in Border 2, the highly anticipated sequel to J.P. Dutta’s 1997 classic. Diljit is reportedly cast as a brave fighter pilot, introducing a new aspect to the esteemed war franchise.
