The admirer lauded Kaabil, describing it as one of the most compelling revenge thrillers in modern Hindi cinema, and inquired about a potential sequel. In response, Gupta stated, "IT’S R E A D Y!!! And this time far DEADELLIER!!!!" Although he quickly deleted his comment, it had already caught the attention of users, who took screenshots and began discussing Kaabil 2 on X.

Sanjay Gupta has now addressed the ongoing discussions and fans' enthusiasm for Kaabil 2. He informed the Times of India, "My tweet was a light-hearted response to a close friend. The truth is that yes, Kaabil 2 has been penned, and this time it is indeed much more intense. However, the Roshan family's current priority is Krrish 4, which I believe will surpass the first three films combined. Any updates regarding Kaabil 2, if and when they occur, will be announced by Rakeshji."
