Amitabh Bachchan Reviews Agastya Nanda's Ikkis
On early Tuesday, Amitabh Bachchan posted his thoughts on Agastya’s film Ikkis on his blog. He wrote, "Emotions surge... As they do tonight when you see the grandson shine in IKKIS... the moment when his mother, Shweta, is hurried to Breach Candy Hospital as she experiences the final stages of labor... his birth... holding him just hours later, and pondering whether his eyes were blue... to the time he grew a little, and I held him in my arms as he played with my beard... to his development... to his ultimate choice to pursue acting, and tonight, seeing him on screen, I can't take my eyes off him as he fills the frames of the film."
He further remarked, "His maturity, his raw honesty in his performance, his presence truly embodying the character he plays... nothing superficial or trivial, just the soldier Arun Khetarpal, who bravely defended the nation at the age of 21 during the India-Pakistan war of 1971... nothing overdone, just perfection in every shot... when he is on screen, he commands your attention... and this isn't just a grandfather speaking; this is a seasoned cinema enthusiast."
More About Ikkis
"The film is impeccable in its execution... its writing... its direction... And when it concludes... my eyes brim with tears of joy and pride... left speechless... In silence... The silence that is mine... my comprehension... no one else's... Love," the actor concluded.
The late actor Dharmendra will be seen posthumously in the upcoming film Ikkis, and once expressed his hope that audiences from both India and Pakistan would view the film.
