on the big screen after its initial showing. The movie, a riotous comic adventure, first premiered on December 12, 2025, and quickly became a hot topic among viewers for its distinctive plot and Kapil’s trademark comedic timing. However, the film encountered stiff competition from other significant releases like Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire and Ash, which restricted its availability in theaters. In light of this, the producers had arranged for a second screening, offering fans the opportunity to see the film in over 500 locations nationwide. Anticipation was high as those who missed it previously looked forward to watching the movie in cinemas. Yet, in a surprising twist, the re-release has been called off, leaving fans disheartened. The studio partner made this decision at the last moment.
Kapil Sharma's Kis Kis Ko Pyaar Karoon 2 re-release called off at the last moment
As reported by Bollywood Hungama, Star Studio18, the film’s studio partner and distributor, had initially pledged to release the movie in 500 theaters. However, due to logistical issues, only around 200–250 screens could be arranged, with most showtimes scheduled at inconvenient hours. Venus, the production company behind the film, found this situation unacceptable and opted to cancel the re-release entirely on the evening of Thursday, January 8, just one day before it was set to premiere in theaters.
The source revealed, “Star Studio18, the studio partner and distributor of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, had guaranteed a release in 500 theaters for its second run. Yet, they managed to secure only about 200-250 screens. Additionally, most of the showtimes were at odd hours. Venus, the producers of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2, were not pleased with this arrangement. Consequently, a decision was made on the evening of Thursday, January 8, to cancel the film's re-release altogether.”
Reason for the cancellation of Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2's re-release
The source added, “Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 initially debuted on December 12 and was pulled from theaters as films like Dhurandhar and Avatar: Fire And Ash dominated the screens. Venus believed their film was not receiving adequate exposure and aimed to re-release it at a more favorable time. However, even as the competing films have slowed down, they are still not getting the screens they requested. This is why such a significant decision was made.”
An industry expert remarked, “It remains to be seen if Kis Kisko Pyaar Karoon 2 will be re-released at a later date. The film has genuinely resonated with audiences and is one of the few recent comedies that truly delivered plenty of laughs in theaters. Here’s hoping that this well-crafted film receives the recognition it rightfully deserves.”
