Rashmika reveals why Diwali has always been incredibly meaningful to her
In a conversation with Mumbai Mirror, Rashmika stated, "For me, the festive period has always revolved around unity and spreading joy. It’s never really about the grand gestures… it’s those small instances that make it memorable. As a child, I enjoyed adorning the home with diyas, assisting my family with rangolis, and sneaking in a few extra treats before guests arrived — it’s well-known how much I adore desserts,” she says with a grin.
Currently balancing film promotions and shooting commitments, Rashmika acknowledges that it’s the intimate, heartfelt experiences that make the festival shine even more.
“I’m in the midst of last-minute preparations, the house is only half ready, and then my friends arrive with decorations, food, and outfits. Suddenly, everything bursts into life with laughter, warmth, and vibrancy. That’s what the festive season signifies for me — celebrating love, light, and those little joyful moments with the people who mean the most,” she adds.
Even with her busy agenda, Rashmika makes sure that the spirit of Diwali stays alive.
“Diwali has always held a special place in my heart! Even with my hectic schedule, I strive to keep the festival's essence alive. I might not always be at home, but I ensure to light a few diyas, wear something traditional, and call my family… that’s essential. I do miss the lengthy celebrations at times, but I cherish the small things — like creating rangoli or even sneaking a piece of kaju katli between shoots!”

Rashmika adores Rangoli
Despite her constant travels, Rashmika finds solace in timeless traditions that keep her grounded.
“Honestly, I give it my all! Even if I’m away from home, I try to take a moment wherever I am to light a diya or pause for a brief prayer. There’s something truly soothing about these small rituals. Rangoli is something I cherish, but with back-to-back shoots, it’s challenging so I’ll either assist a bit or simply admire the creations of others around me. Puja, however, is essential for me. Even if I can’t be there in person, I make an effort to participate virtually with my family. It’s not always about perfection, but more about feeling connected to your heritage — and I always strive to hold on to that.”
Rashmika can't resist a delightful box of kaju katli
When asked what she hopes to illuminate this Diwali, Rashmika’s answer radiates with appreciation.
“Diwali truly embodies lights and gratitude, doesn’t it? This year, I feel incredibly thankful… it’s been such a wonderful journey with consecutive releases, so much affection coming my way, and countless blessings. If there’s one thing I’d like to brighten this year, it’s more positivity and kindness — not just around me, but in everything I undertake.”
Naturally, no Diwali celebration is complete without indulging in sweets — something Rashmika simply cannot resist.
“I have an enormous sweet tooth! During Diwali, there’s no way I can turn down a delightful box of kaju katli… it’s my all-time favorite! And honestly, once I start, there’s no stopping me… it’s Diwali after all, right? Gotta celebrate with some extra sweetness!”
