Pravinn Dabas discusses the atmosphere on Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 set
In a recent conversation with us, when asked about the atmosphere on the Khosla Ka Ghosla 2 set in Delhi, Pravin replied, “The atmosphere on set has been fantastic; it genuinely feels like one large family. Upon returning for the shoot, we all gathered together and seamlessly dove into filming. There wasn’t much time to pause; it’s been busy with long days and nights, but the vibe has been wonderful. Just like before, Anupam Ji, Boman, and everyone kept us entertained. We even continued the tradition of playing word games from the last shoot, which keeps the set energetic. While the work is demanding, we still carve out time for personal interactions and camaraderie. It’s been a delightful blend of enjoyment and concentration.”
Did Pravinn foresee Khosla Ka Ghosla's return after 19 years?
During our discussion, we inquired if Pravinn ever expected the return of Khosla Ka Ghosla after 19 years. The actor responded, "For the sequel, I don’t believe anyone truly anticipated it. The original was a beloved film, and audiences have cherished it for years. Especially after 18–19 years, to see a continuation emerge is something nobody saw coming. It’s not as if we were entirely prepared for it, but over the past two decades, the film has only gained in significance. Its influence has persisted, and it continues to resonate with viewers."He elaborated on how frequently people he encounters discuss the film. Pravinn shared, "'People have mentioned that whenever it airs on TV, they actually stop and watch' - it’s not the type of movie you can just scroll past. Every scene, every line has become iconic. People still quote it, and each moment feels legendary. The affection audiences have for the characters and the film is remarkable. We invested a lot of effort into it, and it’s astonishing to see the movie still thriving all these years later. Many fans claim they’ve watched it 15–20 times, and some families even make it a yearly tradition to watch Khosla Ka Ghosla together.”
Pravinn Dabas on collaborating with Anupam Kher
Reflecting on his experience working with Anupam Kher on Khosla Ka Ghosla, Pravinn recalled, “After Khosla Ka Ghosla, I’ve collaborated on another four or five films with Anupam Ji. And Boman sir, well, being in their company is always incredibly entertaining because they are such wonderful individuals. They possess profound insights into acting and filmmaking, and simply being on set with them is a valuable learning opportunity."As for amusing stories from the original shoot, there are a few that stand out in my memory. One involves my character - I used to write extensively about him. Not just improvising lines, but also crafting his backstory, researching, and contemplating his personality. My character was introverted and reserved, which was challenging to portray, especially among such a vibrant ensemble. I remember sharing some of my notes with Anupam ji, and he was genuinely impressed, saying it was very good," he added.
Anupam Kher's praise for Pravinn Dabas on Khosla Ka Ghosla set
While reminiscing about the filming experience from 19 years ago, Pravinn shared a memorable moment - a compliment he received from Anupam Kher that he will always cherish."Another memorable instance occurred during a scene with a police officer. My character finally lost his cool and began shouting back. After the scene, Anupam Kher approached me and said, ‘Kamaal hai, aapke andar toh Amitabh Bachchan Ji ka ghost ghus gaya tha." (Amitabh Bachchan's ghost entered my body) .He truly appreciated that moment. Those experiences from the original shoot have remained with me; they were both enjoyable and incredibly motivating.”
