
Bollywood icon Aamir Khan, during an episode of Twinkle Khanna and Kajol's Two Much, reflected on the challenging period he faced following his divorce
from his first spouse Reena Dutta. He revealed that it took nearly four years for him to heal from the separation, which had a significant emotional impact on him. He also characterized his breakups with Reena and his second wife Kiran Rao as "traumatic." Aamir Khan Says It Took Him 4 Years To 'Recover' After Divorce While discussing his romantic experiences on the show, Twinkle remarked, "We have been together for such a long time, and now we are living vicariously through you because you have a new chapter in your life. Even at 60, you still have a romance blossoming." Aamir replied, "There are two perspectives on this. You all haven't experienced a breakup as traumatic as mine. I was very close to Reena and Kiran. I mean, 'was' isn't quite right. I remain very close to both Reena and Kiran. When you share your life with someone for such a long time, like 16 years... Reena and I grew up together." He continued, "When you endure something that doesn't succeed, it hits hard. You need time to heal from that. It took me four years to move on. That’s something you all haven't faced." His first marriage was to Reena in 1986, with whom he shares two children, Junaid and Ira. The couple parted ways in 2002. Soon after, in 2005, he wed filmmaker Kiran Rao, and they have a son named Azad. In 2021, Aamir and Kiran announced their separation but continue to co-parent their child.
