In a special conversation with Zoom, actor-singer Shehnaaz Gill discussed her brother Shehbaz Badesha’s experience in Bigg Boss 19 and expressed her belief
that Bigg Boss 13, her own season, remains the most legendary and 'authentic' season in the show's history. The actress, who has been keeping up with the current season to cheer on her brother, shared her thoughts on the criticism Shehbaz has encountered, her emotional responses, and her viewing habits regarding Bigg Boss 19. Reflecting on Shehbaz’s experience inside the house, Shehnaaz remarked, “Honestly, he is exactly as he appears. The poor guy couldn’t handle it as soon as he stepped inside. Even the audience outside is comparing him to me. They just couldn’t accept him, questioning how he even got in. They believe he didn’t deserve to be there." She continued, "From the very beginning, even when he was doing comedy, people were always saying negative things about him. There was nothing positive at all. Fine, it’s his journey. I can’t really comment on it.” (To be honest, he’s just as he seems. The poor guy was not accepted from the moment he entered. People outside are constantly making comparisons to me. They didn’t welcome him at all, claiming he didn’t belong on the show. Even during his comedy days, he faced negativity. But it’s his journey, and I can’t say much.)
Shehnaaz praises BB13 contestants
Shehnaaz also reminisced about her own season, declaring Bigg Boss 13 to be the finest ever. “Yes, because it was the best. And secondly, everyone in that season was genuine. There wasn’t a single fake person. Even the rivalries that exist today are still authentic. Just think about it, that season was completely real. There was no fakeness at all.”
(Absolutely, it was the best. Everyone in that season was authentic; there wasn’t a single fake contestant. Even now, if there are rivalries, they remain genuine. That season had no fakeness whatsoever.)
Shehnaaz's favourite BB19 contestants
When asked if she regularly watches Bigg Boss 19, Shehnaaz confessed that she only watches for her brother and his friend Amaal Malik. “I follow this season for Shehbaz. But honestly, I swear I just skip ahead to watch Shehbaz’s parts. There’s a difference between watching live and fast-forwarding, right? I either watch Amaal or Shehbaz because I enjoy their friendship. Why bother watching the entire episode?”
(I only tune in for Shehbaz. But to be honest, I just fast-forward to his scenes. I only watch Amaal or Shehbaz because I like their friendship. Why watch the whole episode?)
Her honest comments have made us nostalgic about Bigg Boss 13, a season that continues to be celebrated as one of the most unforgettable, emotional, and drama-packed editions of the show.
