Ross Duffer discusses Stranger Things season 5, Episode 1 and Episode 2
On August 3, Ross shared two images from what seems to be a post-production studio to announce and commemorate the finalization of Stranger Things season 5's first two episodes. In his caption, he stated, "Chapters One and Two: locked, mixed, scored, colored, COMPLETE. 'The Crawl' is our favorite, most action-packed first episode since Season 1. 'The Vanishing of…' (yes, yes, you think you know who, blah blah) features the wildest cold open we’ve ever created. It includes one of the sequences we’re most proud of this season."
What does this imply for the final season?
According to the caption, the first episode, Chapter One: The Crawl, is the Duffer Brothers' preferred opening episode since the pilot of season 1. The "wildest cold open" of its second episode, titled Chapter Two: The Vanishing of..., was also hinted at by Ross, suggesting that this will be the finale's most compelling aspect.
Reports indicate that the pilot episode of Stranger Things season 5 will commence with an approximately eight-minute-long introductory segment that will serve as a special recap of everything that has transpired in Hawkins since Will Byers' disappearance initiated a multidimensional struggle against demonic entities operating in an alternate realm known as the Upside Down. It will also provide a preview of the Demogorgons and how Vecna shaped his domain.
