Chadha, who is married to actor Ali Fazal, explained that the recovery process was particularly demanding due to significant blood loss during her natural delivery. The actor noted that the physical exhaustion and lingering health complications made it difficult to maintain her usual professional pace, leading her to prioritize a period of rest and recovery.
Balancing Production and Recovery
Despite the physical strain, Chadha remained active behind the scenes during her postpartum period. She dedicated significant time to the release of her production venture, Girls Will Be Girls, which premiered at the 2024 Sundance Film Festival and later debuted on Amazon Prime Video. The film received critical acclaim, including the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award.Reflecting on the intensity of that period, Chadha described the challenge of juggling high-stakes professional responsibilities with the demands of new motherhood. She noted that the pressure of securing platform deals and managing the film’s release while recovering from childbirth was overwhelming. Returning to the Screen
Addressing her professional future, Chadha clarified that her absence from acting was a temporary measure necessitated by her health. She revealed that she continued to work on various projects even while recovering, including completing an OTT series and conducting extensive research for her upcoming eight-episode non-fiction docuseries, Musafiri, which she is also hosting and producing.Chadha, who recently appeared in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s web series Heeramandi, is now preparing to resume her acting career. She confirmed that she is set to begin work on a new film project and is also slated to appear in Anubhav Sinha’s upcoming film, Abhi Toh Party Shuru Hui Hai, which features a cast including Prateik Patil and Cyrus Broacha. With her health improving, the actor indicated that audiences can expect to see more of her on-screen in the near future.
