has set a new standard. While it continues to enjoy its remarkable success, a revised edition of Dhurandhar will be shown in cinemas globally. Nearly a month post its debut, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India has issued new guidelines requiring the muting of specific terms. The updated version is scheduled for release in theaters worldwide starting January 1, 2026. According to a report from a media outlet, two terms and one line have been modified to comply with the I&B’s regulations.
Dhurandhar producers receive new instructions from the Ministry of I&B
As reported by Bollywood Hungama, a source disclosed, “Theaters nationwide received an email from the distributors today, December 31, notifying them that they will be replacing the DCP of the film. The alteration is due to the fact that the creators have muted two terms and modified a line in the film, in accordance with the directives from the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting of India.” The source further indicated that one of the muted terms is Baloch.

Dhurandhar has surpassed the Rs 1000 crore milestone globally, establishing itself as the top-grossing Hindi film of 2025. However, the film's ban in six Gulf nations has led Pranab Kapadia, the international distributor, to inform CNN-News18, "I believe this is at least a ten million dollar box office that we have lost, as action films typically perform exceptionally well in the Middle East. Thus, we feel it should have been released. Nevertheless, we must respect the perspectives and regulations of each region and country, as they have their justifications.”
