In an interview with Hindustan Times, Tina remarked, “These are just rumors. I don’t focus on such gossip.” When discussing her parents' reactions to the news, Tina stated, “What can I say? Details on the divorce allegations
For those unaware, according to reports from Hauterrfly, Sunita submitted a divorce petition at the Bandra Family Court on December 5, 2024. The filing was made under Section 13 (1) (i), (ia), (ib) of the Hindu Marriage Act, citing reasons such as infidelity, cruelty, and abandonment. Govinda was summoned to appear in court but only attended after receiving a notice in May 2025. Since June of this year, court-ordered counseling sessions have been in progress. While Sunita has been participating regularly, it remains unclear if Govinda has joined the sessions virtually.
Nevertheless, Govinda’s attorney, Lalit Bindra, recently stated to NDTV, “There is no case, everything is being resolved. People are just resurrecting old issues.”
Govinda and Sunita were married on March 11, 1987. They have two children: daughter Tina Ahuja, born in 1989, and son Yashvardhan Ahuja, born in 1997.
