romantic drama made its debut in cinemas on October 28, 2016. As the film celebrates its ninth anniversary today, Karan Johar wrote a touching message on social media. The director shared a collection of behind-the-scenes and candid moments from the set of his 2016 project.
Karan Johar on 9 years of Ae Dil Hai Mushkil
Karan took to his official Instagram account and posted a series of images from the Ae Dil Hai Mushkil set. While sharing the photos, Karan wrote, "One year shy of a decade and it genuinely feels like just yesterday when I was filming what is possibly the most personal movie I have ever created…"
The director continued, "I was overjoyed to be doing what I love, alongside individuals who were truly remarkable as artists - from the cast to the crew. My heart will always cherish this!! Thank you for allowing Ae Dil Hai Mushkil to flourish…for infusing it with life and love up to this day!!"

For those who may not know, Ranbir portrayed Ayan while Anushka played Alizeh. Meanwhile, Aishwarya took on the role of Saba. Shah Rukh Khan also made a brief appearance in the film.

Previously, while addressing his remarks about intimate scenes with Aishwarya, Ranbir reflected on his experience working with her. He stated, "Aishwarya is an incredible actress and also a family friend. She is among India's most gifted and esteemed women. I will always be thankful to her for her role in Ae Dil Hai Mushkil. I could never have disrespected her in that way!"
