“Aandhi banke aaya hoon… mera hausla bhi ayyaash hai...” These lyrics from Dhurandhar’s Ishq Jalakar encapsulate Ranveer Singh’s sentiment for 2025. Following
a series of flops, a torrent of unfavorable reviews, and a lackluster period in his career, the dynamic actor has made a remarkable return with Aditya Dhar’s action film. The movie, which continues to dominate the box office even after 20 days in cinemas, has crossed Rs 600 crore. Dhurandhar not only become one of the top-grossing films of 2025 but has also secured its place among Bollywood’s greatest successes. Beyond breaking records, it has solidified Ranveer Singh’s status as a genuine star once more. "Every actor experiences a pivotal moment in their career that propels them into a new direction or at least provides an opportunity to shift to a different level. For Shah Rukh Khan, it was DDLJ, and for Salman Khan, it was Hum Aapke Hai Koun...! Each actor has that one film until they reach a point where they can make significant choices without the constraints of commerce or other factors. I believe Dhurandhar is that film for Ranveer Singh, and credit goes to Aditya Dhar for presenting it to him," industry analyst Akkshay Rathie shares with Zoom. He continues, "From this point forward, Ranveer Singh's selections will shape the level of stardom he can truly attain. Similar to Ranbir Kapoor, whose recent film was Animal. After that, if you examine the range of films available to him, they are substantial. Likewise, for Vicky Kaushal, it was Uri at one time and Chhaava even more so. I genuinely hope that Ranveer Singh makes some outstanding choices and can lead films that elevate him to even greater fame." Industry expert and film critic Taran Adarsh also concurs that Dhurandhar has altered Ranveer Singh’s career path. He notes that stars are frequently evaluated based on their most recent success or failure, stating, "In this instance, it’s not merely success; it’s something much larger. Dhurandhar is a blockbuster in every aspect, and I believe that is why this film is performing so well." "He has always been a star. However, you know how it is when you fail to deliver those numbers. As I mentioned, you’re not defined by your last Friday—whether good or bad—and if you don’t produce the numbers, it somehow reflects on you in the eyes of filmmakers and critics. It’s crucial to achieve those numbers. At one point, he was being compared to Ranbir Kapoor, but gradually, Ranbir surpassed him after the success of Animal. Now, Animal's records are at risk asDhurandhar is now going past them. So, it’s back to the drawing board for both actors," Adarsh remarks, expressing enthusiasm for what the future holds! Speculations about Ranveer Singh’s exit from Don 3 have left industry insiders split, but all attention is now focused on his next steps. Keep an eye out for Baba and his forthcoming blockbusters!
