Alia Bhatt has shifted her perspective from tracking achievements or statistics to prioritizing equilibrium, artistic fulfillment, and mindfulness, both
on set and at home. The journey of motherhood has naturally altered her rhythm, yet her enthusiasm remains intact. In fact, Alia feels it has enhanced her self-awareness as an artist. She is no longer in a rush to jump from one project to the next. Rather, she is opting to take her time, trust her intuition, and dedicate the necessary focus to each film.
Alia Bhatt On Focusing on One Film at a Time
Alia mentions that her work philosophy has always been guided by her instincts. In a conversation with ETimes, she remarked, "I don’t perceive my career in terms of phases or milestones. The method I used to select films is the same as it is now – by exploring diverse opportunities, challenging myself, and consistently stepping beyond my comfort zone."
What has shifted, however, is her pace. Since becoming a mother, she finds herself more at ease working at a tempo that allows her to fully engage with a project. She expressed, "Naturally, the quantity and speed of my work have changed because I have a child. But it’s a pace I find comfortable, and I’m content with it. I prefer to focus on one film at a time and invest all my energy into it. Previously, I would juggle two or three films at once, but I’m not inclined to do that anymore."
Her passion for cinema remains steadfast. In addition to acting, she is delving further into production. She revealed, "I’m also involved in producing content. We’re working on projects that will commence next year, and I’m creatively engaged in that journey because I see myself as a creative producer. Throughout my career, I’ve always followed my instincts and intuition.”
Love & War and Discovering Satisfaction On Set
Among her forthcoming projects, Ranbir Kapoor and Vicky Kaushal co-starring in Love & War holds a unique significance. This film marks her reunion with Sanjay Leela Bhansali. Describing it as an emotionally enriching experience, Alia stated, "It’s a truly special film. We’ve been filming it throughout the year, and it never feels sufficient. You always crave one more day, one more moment, one more scene where you can just channel the energy.”
Her partnership with SLB continues to influence her growth as a performer. She characterizes the environment on set as concentrated and highly collaborative. "The atmosphere on set is very serene and focused. We arrive, work diligently, and everyone contributes something unique. Naturally, the final touch always lies in Sanjay sir’s hands. It is one of the most rewarding creative experiences I’ve encountered on a film set."
Alia's next two films will be Love & War and the YRF Spy Universe project Alpha.
