On social media, Amazon Prime Video released the trailer, stating, “The past isn’t just a memory. It’s a predator. #DaldalOnPrime, New Series, Jan 30.” The screenplay is crafted by Sreekanth Agneeaswaran, Rohan D’Souza, and Priya Saggi, with Daldal set against the backdrop of Mumbai in a gripping game of cat and mouse.
The trailer features the track Gumnaam Hai Koi from the classic Bollywood thriller Gumnaam (1965) starring Manoj Kumar and Nanda. It depicts Ferreira deeply immersed in a chilling investigation of a serial killer who savagely murders his victims and forces a chicken down their throats as a grim symbol or warning. The overall cold, dark, and enigmatic atmosphere of Daldal evokes Dexter vibes. The dialogues for the Hindi series have been written by Suresh Triveni and Hussain Haidry.
Bhumi Pednekkar on Daldal and Rita Ferreira
In a recent statement, the actress shared her thoughts on her role as Rita Ferreira, describing it as a creatively enriching chapter in her career. She expressed hope that the character would connect with audiences, as the show holds significant meaning for her.
Pednekkar remarked, “She is a woman shaped by ambition, plagued by uncertainty, and weighed down by her past – a role that required me to navigate the intricate balance between fragility and resilience in ways I had never explored before. Immersing myself in her world was both demanding and immensely gratifying, as Rita's journey reflects the challenges we all encounter when facing our own inner struggles. Reuniting with Vikram [Malhotra], after the tremendous success of Toilet-Ek Prem Katha, felt like returning home.”
